2nd Attempt

So today at 1:00 p.m. we attempted to switch Kennedy back to the conventional vent for the second time......Success! We have been on the conventional vent for more then 7 hours and she has yet to d-sat. The vent pressure is still set pretty high, however, she is only on 45% oxygen and she is sating 98 - 100%! We did a blood gas an hour after the switch and her results were the best so far =)

We will be an inpatient in PICU for about two weeks Saturday and we have celebrated many small accomplishments - this is her biggest thus far. Kennedy never ceases to amaze me. I can't believe how strong she is and continues to be. We still have a long road ahead of us, but we have made a huge leap in the right direction.
